Login method

Defines if end-users must be signed-in to the FortiMail Browser Security extension in order to be able to access the internet:

  • Forced sign-in: End-users will not be able to access the internet using a protected browser until they are signed-in to the FortiMail Browser Security extension on that browser. When a user - who is not signed-in - tries to access the internet, a block-page will appear, enabling the user to sign-in.

For additional details, see Forcing redirection to a sign-in page [FortiMail Browser Security].

  • Automatic popup for sign-in: When a user, who is not signed-in, tries to access the internet, a popup will appear, allowing the user to sign-in. Users will be able to access the internet even if they do not sign-in. This is the default method.

  • Optional sign-in: The FortiMail Browser Security extension will not prevent users from accessing the internet, even if they are not signed-in. In addition, FortiMail Browser Security will not prompt users to sign-in. Users can choose to sign-in by clicking the FortiMail Browser Security extension icon [] in the browser toolbar.
