About destination groups

You can create destination groups to enhance the process of creating website rules, and simplify the maintenance of the website rules. Each destination group that you create contains a set of multiple domains, also known as destinations. This enables you to easily manage the set of domains, and to use the set of domains in multiple website rules. When you create a new website rule, you can select the new rule to be a "group-based" rule, and you then associate a specific destination group with the new website rule. This enables you to add and manage multiple domains as a single entry in website rules, thereby simplifying the creation and maintenance of website rules.

Sample scenario

You have a scenario in which you want to use website rules to block access to 20 domains. Instead of creating 20 individual website rules, you can create a destination group that includes the 20 domains, and then associate just a single website rule with that destination group. In addition, you can then use the same destination group to control printing and downloading [for example] from the same set of domains.

For details on creating group-based website rules, see Adding group-based website rules.

You can export the list of destination groups to a .csv file.

  • By default, each organization is limited to 50 destination groups.

  • Any destination group can include a maximum of 1000 domains.
