About scanning local files
The Browser Extension can scan local HTML files on an end-user device only if "access to file URLs" has been allowed by the end-user.
Follow the procedures below to enable scanning of local files in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Scanning local HTML files is not possible with Safari.

Scanning local HTML files [Google Chrome]
To enable the Browser Extension to scan local HTML files [Google Chrome]:

Open a Google Chrome browser on which the Browser Extension is already installed.

Click the Extensions icon [
], then click the More actions icon [
] on the right of the Perception Point Advanced Browser Security extension, and then click Manage extension.

Enable "Allow access to file URLs"
Note: Contact Perception Point Support [support@perception-point.io] for assistance to automatically enforce this configuration via an additional (experimental) module.
Scanning local HTML files [Microsoft Edge]
To enable the Browser Extension to scan local HTML files [Microsoft Edge]:

Open a Microsoft Edge browser on which the Browser Extension is already installed.

Click the Extensions icon [
], then click the More options icon [
] on the right of the Perception Point Advanced Browser Security extension, and then click Manage extension.

Select the "Allow access to file URLs" check box.

Scanning local HTML files [Safari]

Scanning local HTML files is not possible with Safari.
